Is this their stock answer for everything?

Oregon Democrat, Rep. Peter DeFazio, on The Hills Congress Blog

Increasing entrance fees will only drag down the already low visitation rate at national parks. Instead of raising fees for park users, the Department of the Interior should collect the royalties it is owed by oil companies.

Good lord, he really does hate his constituents.

  1. I don’t know for sure, but I’d be willing to bet that he’s even off, factually.

I’m willing to bet that the oil companies pay Uncle Sam every dollar of royalties that, by law, they owe. (For drilling/extraction done on BLM land, not in National Parks.)

They only “owe” more in Sen. DeFuckhead’s mind because, well, he thinks they should pay more.

Personally, I think raising money the way the fedgov used to, by SELLING land belonging to the Interior Dept, would be a better idea. But the enviro-socialists will only allow Uncle Sam to sell off land belonging to the DoD.

Pete DeFazio marches to the tune of a drummer who has never tapped a drumskin on THIS planet. Everyone in OR knows it, but down in the Alternate Universe of Lane County, they keep electing him.
