Not Panicking

Rivrdog once again reminds us of what will probably transpire shortly after the 110th Congress fires up in January.

According to Uncle, he’s not the only one thinking that way.

A little birdie told me that the phones at one of the prominent makers of evil black rifles has been busy for the last several hours.

As for me (and according to the wife), I can outfit a 5 man squad (or two fours), so there is nothing I really need other than maybe more ammo.

But there is something I want that will be on the gun-grabbing bigot’s list.

I haven’t had one since my late teens because I’ve always just sort of put it off for other firearms I actually needed. I’m sure you can all guess what it is without too much trouble, but here are some clues: I already have a rifle in this caliber (bonus!), it isn’t a “minor” caliber (aka:Poodleshooter) and although it looks great in wood, I’ll be getting a McMillan fiberglass stock for mine.

Oh yeah, they’re fucking expensive. So it may actually be January before I can get mine.

Strongly recommend that you shop the “for sale” section of battlerifles.com, thehighroad.org, and m14forum.com.

What you want is a used M1A with as many USGI parts as you can get.

With the money you save (and get a better stick to boot), you MIGHT be able to afford ammo for the darned thing.

    Good luck.

    I’ve added a few things, I’ll be posting a shopping/Christmas list soon.

Even the gun shows are getting in the act. Heard an advert on Hannity this afternoon for a local (PDR of MD) weekend gun show, they had a tagline something along the lines of “Act now before further restrictions go into effect”.
