…a new photojournal piece by Walt Gaya about Adam’s Mom.
I never met Adam Plumondore; I only heard about him from just about everyone I met at Boomershoot in 2005. Walt Gaya of course knew him very well, and it shows in the writing.

You rock, Elfriede! And thank you Walter, for bringing us this poignant story.

SGT Plumondore and I never met in real life, but I am friends with the company supply sergeant (no longer with the 24th) who was deployed with him in Iraq.
Sitting with my bud over a beer and listening to his stories about Adam pulling a rack grad M4 out of the arms room and heading off to the international sniper competition at Ft. Benning, and placing second, makes me wish that I had known him.
By the company he left behind he surely was a hero.
