The Soundboard: The Return

Ha Ha! They Can’t Stop The Rock.

Or, in today’s edition, “The Country” either.

Using some of his holiday weekend to make sure that I can spread the joy of tunage, Craig from MTPolitics has again earned my thanks for helping me bring back The Soundboard.

As partial repayment for the helping hands, I asked him what he might like to hear. I’m not sure if’n he was trying to stump me, but he asked for “Okie From Muskogee”.

I leaned on over to the CD rack next to RNS Blogstation Tacoma and reached in between Vince Guaraldi and Herbie Hancock and grabbed the Merle Haggard CD’s, knowing it was in there somewhere.

Lo and behold, here it is

Okie from Muskogee – Merle Haggard

Many Thanks, Craig.

I’ve decided that I’ll be posting a different tune every day this week, with each song available for 24 hours. Each one will be a portion of stuff I listened to while The Soundboard was out of commission.

Next week we will be going back to the Thursday format and I’m planning on it being the beginning of a run from one band, whose disk I used my “after tax dollars” to order a very long time ago. It was damaged in shipping with me getting a refund but never receiving it. During the downtime in July due to the scriptkiddies hacking the place (Craig helped with getting RNS back up then as well) I was cleaning out my Amazon wish list, saw it there and reordered.

Wow, I never knew what I was missing. This album rocks way too hard for it to be legal, in this fellow’s opinion.

But more next week. In the meantime, enjoy this week’s tunage.

Provided I can a- find the tape and b- record from tape to MP3, I have a rather interesting cover of this song I can return to you.

Good luck on the tape-to-mp3 conversion, DF. I’ve been attempting an LP-to-mp3 conversion as of late, but need about $200 more in software and another $200 investment in a soundcard.

But whence you make it happen, I’ll be here and ready to listen.

  3. DFWMTX says:

Well, I found a device in the SkyMall catalog that can do it for $200, which includes the software.
