I’m withholding my judgement on the “Enemy Combatant Treatment” bill passed yesterday until I read the whole thing, but leftist sites across this here interweb are threatening to go black and leave nothing but cries about the death of America as their front pages over it.
While it may mean the death of this series of posts if they do, I would welcome them to do so.
However, two of the largest PacNW left-wing sites tied for the award:
The Northwest Progessive Institute’s blog noted the Dems who voted for the legislation as betrayers of the party:
Democrats who betrayed the party include: Carper (Del.), Johnson (S.D.), Landrieu (La.), Lautenberg (N.J.), Menendez (N.J), Pryor (Ark.), Rockefeller (W. Va.), Salazar (Co.), Stabenow (Mich.), Nelson (Fla.), Nelson (Neb.)
Yet, the single Repub to vote against the legislation was not given the same consideration:
Chafee was the only Republican to break with his party, and was joined by Vermont’s Jeffords and in voting with the Democratic caucus.
While I do read more leftist blogs than those on the right, I still don’t get the logic.
Further down my leftie link-roll, uber-PacNW left-wing blogger, Goldy of RonSimsAss.org declared himself a terrorist:
I am planning the violent overthrow of the United States government. There, I said it.
Decide for yourself whether I’m serious or not, or whether I’m just trying to make some rhetorical point. But it no longer matters what you think or what I think, or what a grand jury or a prosecutor or a court of law might think. All that matters now is what the President of the United States thinks.
Goldy must not have read much else but Democrat talking points on this topic. It is understandable, what with the wailing an gnashing of teeth that goes on at his place over just about any assumed injustice, but it is not excusable.
Personally, I seriously doubt that Goldy could think far enough ahead to plan the violent overthrow of his toilet, but hey, if the guy wants to wax rhetorical, I’ll let him.
But, Phil, don’t forget to go to the range just in case he’s telling the truth this time.

Goldy is definately on the watch list now. Smooth move.
And when he’s hauled into court, it’s definately going to matter what the grand jury/prosecutor/court thinks of his words when it means innocence & freedom or guilt & incarceration.
“But I’m innocent! I never did X,Y & Z crimes.”
“Well, evidence says to the contrary, and after all, you did say you were planning violent overthrow of the United States government.”
I suppose now he will stomp his feet as he jumps up and down, threatening to hold his breath until he turns blue if we don’t relent and give KSM more rights. Considering the childish nature of the left in this country, that is about as violent an overthrow as we are likely to see from him.
