A very suggestively designed cabinet of some sort. Medicine, perhaps, or entertainment based?

  2. Rivrdog says:

The key is that it was from her mother, probably a good and straingt woman, so my guess is that it’s a common woman’s item such as perfume inside a small clamshell-type container.

WAG (Wild-ass guess): it’s a new container for an expensive piece of petrified wood.

  3. River Rat says:

    Gun Cleaning kit what else!

  4. Raphiel Benjamin says:

    Is it a tryptich?

  5. Analog Mom says:

    I KNOW – I KNOW

    But I ain’t tellin !! Neener.

  6. Lergnom says:

Religious statue Inside, probably the Sacred Heart.

  7. tkdkerry says:

I think Raphiel & Lergnom have the right idea. Here’s my bet: not exactly a tryptich, the wings won’t have any images on them; and probably an image of the virgin Mary, with or without the sacred heart.

  8. tkdkerry says:

But I have to add, River Rat’s idea struck a chord with me. Now, how many cleaning patches could I stick in there? Hmmm… 🙂

  9. AughtSix says:

Lergnom (and Raphiel) beat me to it. It looks like a minature cresh, open the doors, see Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, or some other scene. Hmm… I’m going to guess it’s either a cresh, or a Madonna and Child.

    A triptych
