Whoa

Just whoa. That is all I can think to say about the left wing site One Planet, One Nation.

I was going through my left wing link-roll, searching for something outrangeously ignorant, and damn if I didn’t find it there. I’ve seen a lot on this interweb-thingy, and I could count on my fingers how many of them actually turned my stomach. I’m now out of fingers after going to OPON (except for maybe my middle one).

I found the link to this festering hole of what I would like to label “anti-semitism for the hell of it” at the supposedly mainstream Democrat site, Crooks and Liars, where they were promoting a link to OPON’s hosting of the BBC documentary “The Power of Nightmares”.

According to the description given by OPON, the documentary “assesses whether the threat from a hidden and organized terrorist network is an illusion. In the concluding part of the series, the program explains how the illusion was created and who benefits from it.”

The terrorist network they are quesitoning the existence of is al-Qaida.

Another one of the links I followed yesterday was to this post at the HuffPo by Ross Levine.

While I didn’t get the pukey taste in my mouth with this one as I did from OPON, I did feel slightly less intelligent for having read it.

The post is titled “Why War”, and in it he has this to say about the US Military:

And what can you say with certainty about this U.S. military tumor that keeps growing every day? Well, for one thing, it is not benign. No matter how many times our chief “W”itch doctor insists the growth is not malignant, don’t believe him.

He also analogizes:

An army is like a gun; if it’s in the drawer, you’ll use it.

My guess is that he would rather that the entirety of the nation be as helpless against attack as the subjects to the crown are in the UK.

I can only guess that he wrote the post in complete seriousness, which leads me to believe that he never took a history class after he left junior high school, because of this sentence:

Can you imagine, the Nazis were steamrolling through Europe, the Japanese were annexing Asia, and Roosevelt still couldn’t drag us into war until the Japanese made a mess of Pearl Harbor.

The Japanese weren’t “annexing Asia”, they were raping it and slashing it’s throat open. Likewise, they didn’t “make a mess” of Pearl Harbor, they nearly crippled our entire Pacific Naval Fleet while killing over 2000 of our citizens.

I’d point out more of his gross understatements and marginalizations, but I am about to fire up the grill for breakfast. For me to transcribe any further would probably make me too obtuse to grill safely.

One Response to Whoa

I think your comments summed this up nicely. The looney left so wants to believe that this is all a concoction of GWB & friends, and that it’s somehow his and our fault. If you read even the “mainstream” lefties that now read Kos, it’s pretty scary.
