The Real Numbers on Iraq

Excellent post over at Redstate: the death rate of US soldiers in Iraq can be shown to be less than that of US civilians at home — in fact, less than that among young African-American males in urban Philadelphia.

Yes, I know the old saw about lies, damned lies, and statistics — but the U. Penn demographer whose article’s discussed in the post does a pretty good job. Wonder if Philly has an area similar to what they used to call Boston’s “Combat Zone?”

Anyway, that there’s some excellent perspective on the Iraq war’s cost in blood to the US — not that it will change the mind of anyone on the left of course.
