For those who have followed the sorrid history of Oliver Willis’ (Occupation: Toole) blog, you know who his favorite comic book her o is. For the rest of y’all, the answer is: Superman, hence O-Dubs insipid by-line.
Ollie was reading around the leftie blogs and found one who was talking about the SCOTUS decision equating captured al-Qaida fighters and terrorists to POWs. I’m sure Ollie would have passed right over the post with only a slight glance, but the blogger, Philip Barron, posted a pic of an old comic cell showing Superman flying what looks to be Hitler and some other Nazi to Geneva, Switzerland to be put on trial.

Actually, using Barron’s and Ollie’s very own example, Superman is a War Criminal.
First off, if you look at the pic, Superman is grasping his two ‘prisoners’ by the scruff of their shirt collars to carry them along as he flies at an unknown height and speed, a fall from which would probably prove fatal to a mortal human, while transporting them across international borders.
The equivalent of this would be strapping POWs to the outside of an aircraft, which is clearly against Section I, Part II of the Third Geneva Convention that clearly states the prisoner is to be protected and kept safe at all times, including during transport (clicky the link in my blogroll for links to all four GCs).
I would also like to point out that at the same time the example pic was originally published, US, British and Soviet troops (along with members of the French Resistance) were shooting any and all Waffen SS troops they came across, including unarmed and surrendering members of the group, and leaving their bodies where they fell.
So, in using their chosen example, they are calling said troops ‘War Criminals’.
How kind of them.
Now, you may ask why I am going through all this trouble to point out that the pro-defeat left-wing bloggers are intentional idiots? Because it needs to be done at every available opportunity. I’m not going to shut them up, but if their ignorance is shown to them enough times, maybe, just maybe, they shut up all on their own.
