My Favorite Motto

Some dingleberry in New Hampshire’s State House is trying to get the state motto “Live Free or Die” changed.

He is, of course, a Democrat (like we needed to be told).

“I think that’s an in-your-face motto. It’s misinterpreted. It’s out of context. That’s not who we are,” said state Rep. Tim Robertson, a Democrat.

Well, Mr. Robertson, that might no be who you are, but that is hardly surprising now, is it?

I don’t know… sic semper tyrannus is pretty decent, too. It’s Virginia’s state motto. Translates to: “thus always to tyrants.” And in the center of the state seal is a guy (err, chick) standing triumphantly over a now-dead king with his crown knocked off. Oh, and it has a boobie on it. How many other states can say that? Details here.

And there’s our old friend Al Gore screaming “He’s playing on our fears!” His fears, perhaps, not mine. What a sad state when a man in America can say those things and not be laughed out of all consequence. Do these guys have one pair in the entire party?
