The Soundboard: Bocephus Speaks

One of the conditions put upon the purchase of Grimm by the Analog Wife was that I had to post this Hank Williams Jr. tune. Not that I mind, I just think her reasons are a bit silly.

So here we go, in order of appearance in the song: Remington, Remington, Ford and Springfield.

BTW, since some folks have been having trouble with the mp3’s as of late, I’ve try this one in .wav format. Enjoy.

Country Boy – Hank Williams Jr.

On a side note, the wife wokred her way through the University of Montana. For a year or so, she worked at the Missoula K-Mart. During her tenure there was when Hank Jr. had to be escorted out of the store.

You see, he had just come back from Tennessee to his place outside of Missoula and after a day of doing whatever Hank Jr. wanted to do, he stopped into the K-Mart to buy a case of beer, as he did on a regular basis. Unfortunately for him, earlier that year the K-Mart decided they would no longer handle alcoholic beverages of any kind.

So in walks Hank Williams Jr., he goes to where the beer aisle used to be only to find no beer. He gets a manager and asks where they’ve moved the beer to and when the manager tells him they don’t carry any beer any more, not even his favorite animal beer, he starts yelling and cussing. After they calm him down a bit, they ask him to please leave, which he does, with three or four K-Mart employees behind him.

I understand, Bocephus. You’d think that the K-Mart in the town where you had paid for a new wing on the hospital would have the sense to keep your Schmidt in stock. Damn yuppies moving into Missoula.

  1. Craig says:

Heh. I remember buying Schmidt in Missoula for $1.58 a sixer.

A little over $6 for a case made for some good times, indeed; along with some gastro-intestinal distress.
