Good News/Bad News

To get it out of the way, we’ll start with the bad news:

Part I: I was supposed to have this week (and the next one) off for Boomershoot, but alas, I am unable to attend due to a poorly timed move of residence.

RNS co-poster, David, was also supposed to be going to Boomershoot, but his profession decided that it was not to be.

So here at RNS you have two rather avid shooters who cannot go the premier long distance rifle shooting event in the NW. I’m doing my best to stay upbeat about being able to attend next year, but it’s not really helping.

Part II: Thursday’s regular feature ‘The Soundboard’ will be moved to Friday, in honor of the first day of the Precision Rifle Clinic/sight-in.

Which brings me to the things that are helping keep the spriits up (aka The Good News):

Part I: I am still taking all of next week off. I know the Analog Wife has plans for me, but I will, come hell or high water, squeeze some trigger time in somewhere in there. I don’t quite know when, but at least a couple of days. So if’n you have a range nearby and are pretty sure I haven’t been to it, send me an email or leave a comment with a good email addy and we’ll see if we can whip something up for a mid-week visit to “The Church of the Holy High-Speed Projectile”.

Part II: There will be a Blogger Blastorama on Saturday, May 6th.

Bloggers, commentors and lurkers alike are invited to bring themselves and their safe firearms handling skills to Sam’s Indoor Range in Everett from 10am to whenever we run out of ammo or our trigger-fingers get tired. Mr. Completely has said he’ll be attending and I’m hoping that KeeWee will be there also.

First time shooters are expressly welcome, so long as you bring your common sense and good listening skills with you.

I’ll get the address posted here in the near future, but it’s just west of the intersection of Airport and Hwy 99 to give you some bearings to work with.

I am also looking for a place for some pre-range session eatin’, so if you’re local to Everett/Lynnwood and know of something nearby, also email me or leave a comment.

Think “truck stop food”. Greasy spoons don’t scare me.

It has been far too long since the last one, and ever much more too long since the one before that. It’s time we got that taken care of. I used to hold them every 3-4 weeks, but with my current schedule, I won’t be able to do that. I can easily see every 6-8 weeks though.

I’d attend the Blasto, but the one mandatory function I have in my Yacht Club, the Opening Day Yacht Parade, is on that date.

    Have fun.

I’ll be there. After this last weekends hanging plate shoot, I know I need some practice, lots of it.

  3. I’m there, for sure!!

If you come over next week we can go check out the ranges at Holmes Harbor Rod & Gun club, 4mi. from Completely Castle. The even have a dining room with good food. The Tuesday after 5pm Fish and Chips is outstanding. It’s not even greasy, but they can probably grease it up a little extra for you if you ask….
