Goin’ to the SHTF Store

So I open up my local paper this Sunday morning to see a full-page ad for the GRAND OPENING!!! of

“Your Safety Place. A new store in Dublin [the town a couple of exits away from me] that makes getting ready for an earthquake (or any emergency) fast and simple.”

They’ve got 3-day emergency kits from fanny-pack to BOB to 4-person kit-in-a-bucket, all reasonably priced. Dog & cat 3-day survival kits for $69.99. Earthquake-proofing supplies (now I won’t have to hunt around for that museum wax to secure my breakables). Baby safety stuff, including child-locator radios. Fire protection. Security systems. Power generators.

Is this a sign of the times, or what?

Well, now, I’ve just got to pay them a visit, even if it’s just to pick up some museum wax and strapping for my bookcases.

Anybody else see one of these stores in your neighborhood? There’s no indication that this is a chain, but they do have a snazzy logo.
