GOP Invites 31 Cities to Submit Bids for 2008 Convention
Included on the list are, in geographical order, from South to North:
San Francisco, CA
Portland, OR
Seattle, WA
Why the hell even make the offer to them? If they don’t just outright refuse to bid, the thought of having the 2008 GOP convention in any of those cities makes me laugh when I think that the hippies and other various socialists will be starting the building their paper-mache effigy dolls a year in advance.
Portland is mis-spelled: should be “Little Beirut”

Just to be contrarian, having a guaranteed bunch of the usual idiots protesting outside a convention during a heated election battle might be useful to Rove, et al. in painting Hillary (or whoever) as One of Them.
