Information Post

OK, work sucked. Now I know why I don’t take time-off from there.

Can you say “Royally backed-up?

I knew you could.

So anyway, while I try to recover from 14 hours of bionic movements (and loads of keyboarding) let me just give you a few updates:

First up, and most important, Raging Dave has returned home from the land of the Pharaohs where the US Army switched his MOS to ‘Human Dust Magnet’. Why don’t you stop on by 4RWW’s and welcome him home.

Next, I got a good number of late entries for the Rifle e-Postal Match last night. Thanks to everyone who entered. Results on Monday as well as the new task.

The title for the new task will be: The Black Death

You’re going to love it (and then probably hate me shortly thereafterwards)!

In current events, I heard that Bush nominated one of his otherwise unknown staff yesterday for O’Connor’s place.

I also hear that there is bitching and moaning and whining and screaming about this that and the other from folks on the right.

Guess what people, the left wingers are laughing their asses off about that. Not enough to give the lady any support through the nominating process, but the righties look like spoiled children who wanted a pony and cried when we didn’t get one with the prettiest spots.

This is all I need to know for now, from the Geek w/a 45 Via Instapundit, who link to Kopel on Volokh:

The same liberties that ensure a free society make the innocent vulnerable to those who prevent rights and privileges and commit senseless and cruel acts. Those precious liberties include free speech, freedom to assemble, freedom of liberties, access to public places, the right to bear arms and freedom from constant surveillance. We are not willing to sacrifice these rights because of the acts of maniacs.

As the Geek says, “Ding ding ding! We have a winner.

Remember the confiscation of firearms in NOLA after the looting? Do you think that case will make it to the SCOTUS? Do you think that the confiscations were due to the acts of maniacal looters? See where I’m going?

There are some other things I’m wanting to rant about, but time is of scare supply. I love y’all, but a guy’s gotta sleep sometime. So for now I’ll leave you with a link from Mr. Completely’s post on the US Navy’s Rules for a Gun Fight,

Rule #11

When the Marines call for support, ignore Rules 1-10 and provide as much support, as closely as possible, with all forces at hand. Ships are cheap; Marines are not.

It’s true you know.
