Democracy is for Democrats

Because Republicans know that we are a Constitutional Representative Republic

Nearly a dozen states have quietly signed onto a plan to effectively ditch the Electoral College and instead, award the White House to the candidate that wins the popular vote.

The National Popular Vote agreement would take effect if states that represent 270 electoral votes all commit. New York has most recently joined the efforts, bringing the number of states to 10 plus the District of Columbia. Altogether, they represent 165 electoral votes.

Mob Rule. Coming to a state near you.

For someone who says he’s against racism

This is pretty fucking racist

Illinois Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn is in some hot water with the Jewish community after his campaign tweeted—and then quietly deleted—several messages urging backers to read an article comparing black Republican voters to Jews who collaborated with the Nazis.

Chicago Sun Times readers were stunned last week to find that writer Neil Steinberg has penned a column comparing black supporters of Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner to Jews who collaborated with the Nazis against their brethren.

“As a general rule, individuals will sell out the interests of their groups in return for personal benefit,” Steinberg wrote in his column, which claimed that Rauner is buying off the black community and its leaders. “It isn’t just a black thing. Jews collaborated with the Nazis during World War II, helping them to round up their own people in the hopes they’d be the last to go.”

Because you coloreds need to get back on the Democratic Party plantation. Haven’t you heard us tell you that the Rethuglicans are just like Nazis?

At least he is honest

Thomas Piketty has written a book on Economics that currently sits on the NYT’s Best Seller at the #1 spot. He has admitted that he has “worked with” some very influential folks who have power of the U.S. economic planning.

This wouldn’t seem too horribly bad, until you find out that his reasoning for wanting to tax top earners at 80% isn’t to raise revenue, but to instead dissuade people from wanting to become top earners.

Mr. Piketty urges an 80% tax rate on incomes starting at “$500,000 or $1 million.” This is not to raise money for education or to increase unemployment benefits. Quite the contrary, he does not expect such a tax to bring in much revenue, because its purpose is simply “to put an end to such incomes.” It will also be necessary to impose a 50%-60% tax rate on incomes as low as $200,000 to develop “the meager US social state.” There must be an annual wealth tax as high as 10% on the largest fortunes and a one-time assessment as high as 20% on much lower levels of existing wealth. He breezily assures us that none of this would reduce economic growth, productivity, entrepreneurship or innovation.

He fails Economics 101 on two points here:

First, you cannot make people not want to earn more than their neighbor. It is simply that it is completely against human nature to want to be equal. Even those who preach “equality” do not want to be equal to everyone else.

Secondly, any removal of personal wealth, from ANY of the levels, from the highest to the lowest, absolutely has an negative effect on “economic growth, productivity, entrepreneurship or innovation.” There is no evidence to the contrary at any time in known history. To believe otherwise is to be playing with your own set of facts, which is one of the points that Clive Crook at the link makes mention of.

If a student spouted off any of Mr. Piketty’s ideas and ignored the basic foundational laws of Economics as Mr. Piketty has, they would have received failing grades and never made it to their Associates Degree. Apparently, they do things differently in Europe. Must be some sort of Affirmative Action for idiots program they have going.

Mr. Piketty has done with the “evidence” in his book the exact same thing the Glowball Warmenistas have done with science in the IPCC reports.

The main reason Krugman praises the book isn’t because it fits his world view. It is because he finally found someone who is a better economic statistical liar than he is.

They might be right

So they shouldn’t be allowed to speak

Harvard student Sandra Y.L. Korn recently proposed in The Harvard Crimson that academics should be stopped if their research is deemed oppressive. Arguing that “academic justice” should replace “academic freedom,” she writes: “If our university community opposes racism, sexism, and heterosexism, why should we put up with research that counters our goals simply in the name of ‘academic freedom’?”

In other words, Korn would have the university cease to be a forum for open debate and free inquiry in the name of justice, as defined by mainstream liberal academia.

It will be so strange for her when she leaves academia and has to listen to things she disagrees with.

Heaven Forbid

People actually start doing something smart with their money: No spending it as fast or faster than they earn it.

Keynesian Knightmare: US Savers Outnumber Spenders By Record Numbers

“Janet, we have a problem,” is the resoundingly loud message from the latest Gallup poll of Americans preference (and relative enjoyment) of “saving” vs. “spending”. It seems, despite all the hoop-la and exuberance about an ‘economic recovery’ that is pent-up due to weather but about to break out to escape velocity, the majority of Americans continue to enjoy saving money more than spending it, by 62% to 34%. The 2014 saving-spending gap is the one of the widest since Gallup began tracking Americans’ preferences in 2001. How long before a discussion of negative rates re-appears as the rich and powerful Oz-ians contemplate the latest effort to ‘change’ people’s mass psychology?

I can almost hear the cries of Obama Administration officials now….

“If you don’t spend more money, you’ll never get your economic recovery!”

Which will shortly turn into

“Spend more or your a racist for making Obama look bad!”

Same Shit

BLM eye 90,000 acres of Texas land

After the recent Bundy Ranch episode by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Texans are becoming more concerned about the BLM’s focus on 90,000 acres along a 116 mile stretch of the Texas/Oklahoma boundary. The BLM is reviewing the possible federal takeover and ownership of privately-held lands which have been deeded property for generations of Texas landowners.

Sid Miller, former Texas State Representative and Republican candidate for Texas Agriculture Commissioner, has since made the matter a campaign issue to Breitbart Texas.

“In Texas,” Miller says, “the BLM is attempting a repeat of an action taken over 30 years ago along the Red River when Tommy Henderson lost a federal lawsuit. The Bureau of Land Management took 140 acres of his property and didn’t pay him one cent.”

Miller referred to a 1986 case where the BLM attempted to seize some of Henderson’s land. Henderson sued the BLM and lost 140 acres that had been in his family for generations. Now the BLM is looking at using the prior case as a precedent to claim an additional 90,000 acres.

They can’t be serious?

A guy in Nevada with no legal basis to his claim got hundreds of supporters to drive out and stare down the feds. This land is actually deeded to a citizen of the U.S.. He owes no back taxes or fees and they want to take him to court to claim that Texas never had the right to deed the land?

Then does any state have the right to deed any land?

Awww Hell NO!

Hell FUCKING No! What political dick sucker in the US Navy decided that it would be a good idea to name a combat vessel after Gabby Giffords?

Seriously, is the Navy & USMC fresh out of MOH winners to name ships after?  Silver or Bronze Star winners?  Old Admirals or Generals?  Anyone at all with a DD-214 to their name?  Hell, it doesn’t even match the naming tradition already in play (named after US Cities).  If they really wanted to honor her, how about naming it after her hometown?

Stupid fucking politics ruins everything!

There is no such thing as a Unicorn

So there is nothing for doctors to magically ride in from the ether and appear at the non-existent clinics for Obamacare enrollees.

ConsumerWatch: Some Covered California Patients Say They Can’t See A Doctor

While open enrollment for coverage under the Affordable Care Act is closed, many of the newly insured are finding they can’t find doctors, landing them into a state described as “medical homelessness.”

Rotacare, a free clinic for the uninsured in Mountain View, is dealing with the problem firsthand.

Mirella Nguyen works at the clinic said staffers dutifully helped uninsured clients sign up for Obamacare so they would no longer need the free clinic.

But months later, the clinic’s former patients are coming back to the clinic begging for help. “They’re coming back to us now and saying I can’t find a doctor, “said Nguyen.

Thinn Ong was thrilled to qualify for a subsidy on the health care exchange. She is paying $200 a month in premiums. But the single mother of two is asking, what for?

“Yeah, I sign it. I got it. But where’s my doctor? Who’s my doctor? I don’t know,” said a frustrated Ong.

Nguyen said the newly insured patients checked the physicians’ lists they were provided and were told they weren’t accepting new patients or they did not participate in the plan.

What? You mean the Democartic Party over-promised and under-delivered? Say it ain’t so.

An Answer

To the question: What is Social Justice?

Social Justice is a horrible, liberty killing idea brought to us by those who either want power or those who revile responsibility.

I have done the asking of leftists to define Social Justice, and it is true that no two of them give the same answer to the question.

Becoming a shut in

Seems like a viable option these days.

IRS Among Agencies Using License Plate-Tracking Vendor

The Internal Revenue Service and other U.S. agencies awarded about $415,000 in contracts to a license plate-tracking company before Homeland Security leaders dropped a plan for similar work amid privacy complaints.

Federal offices such as the Forest Service and the U.S. Air Force’s Air Combat Command chose Livermore, California-based Vigilant Solutions to provide access to license plate databases or tools used to collect plate information, according to government procurement records compiled by Bloomberg.

Vigilant, a closely held company, has received such work since 2009. In February, Jeh Johnson, secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, ordered the cancelation of an immigration agency plan to buy access to national license plate data. While the technology can help solve crimes, the American Civil Liberties Union and other groups have said the mass collection of data infringes the privacy of innocent people.

“Especially with the IRS, I don’t know why these agencies are getting access to this kind of information,” said Jennifer Lynch, a senior staff attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a San Francisco-based privacy-rights group. “These systems treat every single person in an area as if they’re under investigation for a crime — that is not the way our criminal justice system was set up or the way things work in a democratic society.”

Oh, Ms. Lynch. You don’t seriously believe they consider anyone who doesn’t vote for them worthy of living in a “democratic society”.

I mean, they haven’t even tied your license plate to the list of who gave what to which campaign yet.

Remember folks, the left believes that if you have a Doctorate in 12th Century Feminist Literature and are $250K in debt to the government for your college loans, you should be allowed to take over private property in NYC to protest and take a shit in the street while leaning up against a cop car.

But if you are a rancher who is refusing to pay $250K in grazing fees to the BLM, you are a domestic terrorist who deserves to have 100 heavily armed SWAT team members raid your ranch.
