A permit holder currently must qualify on each individual weapon they want to carry concealed, even if they are similar.
Under the proposed measure, a permit holder would have to qualify for a revolver, semi-automatic weapon or both in order to carry them. But they would then be allowed to carry any firearm within those categories.
Might be time for me to get that Nevada permit sometime soon.

Since I first saw the bridge of the Next Generation Enterprise, I felt that of all the things they got right with that show, the chairs were the best improvement on the original series.
Executive seating is rightly nothing if not comfortable.
Now, the wife has wanted reclining chairs by our fireplace (for her football viewing, natch) for the longest time, but La-Z-Boys and the like are all far too overstuffed and bulky for our style, not to mention they would overwhelm our smallish rooms.

The ones we picked up at our local Costco were in rich dark brown leather, assembled in a trice, and were under $500 apiece out the door, and that’s including our ridiculous sales tax.
I’ll have a pic of of them flanking the fireplace up in the next day or so. Svelte, modern recliners — I love these!
Edited to add: Dirtcrashr, in comments, may think he’s flattering our new acquisitions by comparing them to the iconic Eames chair. I’d argue ours are better — the Eames’ seat is “seat is permanently tilted at a 15-degree angle to take the weight off your lower spine and properly distribute it to the back of the chair” — ours recline over a range of degrees, and at our will, not the predetermined ideal of some snooty designers.

Gold buyers in Washington state may have to document who is selling the gold, and even fingerprint them, under a proposed bill.
The bill to regulate those who buys gold, typically at local hotels on weekends, is sponsored by Rep. Katrina Asay, R-Federal Way. Asay says police requested the regulations.
“They’ve had a rash of home burglaries where all that’s taken is jewelry,” Asay said.
Individual buyers are currently not required to document who is selling them jewelry. Under Asay’s bill, for all purchases over $100, a buyer would need to photocopy the seller’s identification and take their fingerprints. The buyer would also have to hold onto the merchandise for 45 days.
Typically, gold is immediately melted down, making it untraceable and unrecoverable by police, said Asay.
“Hopefully, it will curtail those who aren’t so legitimate,” she said.
The bill would hold gold buyers to the same restrictions pawnbrokers must currently follow.

The only “curtailing” that is going to happen is the thieves will curtail their trips to the pawn shop and will instead go to non-shop owning individuals who can run a small smelter in their garage. He’ll pay 25-50% less than current market spot value for whatever precious metals the thieves can pocket, but they’ll still get their money and not have to show ID.

Bolivian President Evo Morales has abruptly abandoned a mining town after protesters angered by rising prices booed him and set off dynamite.
Mr Morales was due to speak on the anniversary of a colonial uprising in Oruro but canceled plans to participate in a march yesterday after demonstrations against rising food prices and shortages.
There were also protests in the Bolivian capital of La Paz, and the cities of Santa Cruz and Cochabamba.
The Bolivian populace are angry over a near doubling in the price of sugar after the government lifted subsidies.
Evo couldn’t keep paying for those subsidies with that confiscated/fake money forever. Someone left a window in his “House of Cards room” and an evening breeze is wafting in.
If Evo falls, Venezuela isn’t far behind. Watch for Chavez to defend his power violently.

If government is allowed to break the law due to immunity, and it extends that immunity to private actors & businesses that violate laws while conducting activity that furthers the interests of the government (through an unwillingness to prosecute), then truly the rule of law has lost all meaning in this country.
Immunity is a privilege that has become a right to those who hold the reigns of power.
