If you happen to be one of those who loves their Obamacare subsidy and lives in a state without its own exchange.
The end of last week saw the SCOTUS agree to hear the King vs. Burwell case, which states that only the states that took it upon themselves to set up their own functioning health care exchanges are qualified for health insurance premium subsidy.
Apparently, the left knows they are going to lose. Multiple articles and even an editorial cartoon have declared the SCOTUS to be a “death panel” for the subsidy.
Even the heavy left-socialist blogs aren’t trying to argue that the subsidies are legal. They have gone straight into full-on hate mode towards Roberts, Alito, Scalia and Thomas. Some of them are making a half-hearted attempt to not slime Kennedy, but the other half of them are lumping him into the “reich-wing murderer wants to kill the poors and should be impeached” camp.
I’m already tired of it and it hasn’t even been a week.
That is what happens when you set your sights on an unreachable utopia. Next up, the death threats.
I expect they will be claiming they received death threats before they start making them, trying to drum up sympathy. They also know making threats is more likely to be charged than simply lying about being on the receiving end.
Ocare should have been shut down the first time it came up but wasn’t. I don’t expect it to be shut down this time either. Roberts will fold. Book it.
