An odd definition of “Choice”

Over the weekend, The HuffPo put up a post on “the eye-opening trend of shrinking choice at the supermarket.

The post lists products in a category and then tells you how many companies have entered into a market in that category.

Apparently, three companies producing products for 91% of a category (non-alcoholic beverages) is an “elimination of choice.” These companies have not removed anyone’s favorite product from the market. You can still get these products. But the tweakers at The HuffPo have deemed that these companies are attempting to be too successful in offering too many products for consumers.

Then again, we have always known the left to have an odd definition of “choice”.

But to a statist, a product is not what’s important, it’s what captialist is behind it (unless of course it is a left-leaning product of service, then you need to examine it on its own merits.)
Careful – you are harshing their mellow.
