The non-ID ID card

You can no longer do anything without is about to become your national ID card.

As Republicans push for new voting restrictions around the country, a handful of Democrats have coalesced around an impromptu idea: placing a photo on Social Security cards.

Former U.N. ambassador and civil rights activist Andrew Young — who chairs a nonpartisan voting rights group called Why Tuesday? — buttonholed President Obama and two of his predecessors in Texas this week in an effort to win their support for the concept. Former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter endorsed the idea, while the White House declined to comment.

“It’s just an idea whose time may have come,” said Young, a former Atlanta mayor who was in Austin to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act at the Lyndon B. Johnson presidential library. “What we’re saying is, everybody’s got a Social Security card. But with all of this identity theft going on, it’s a good idea to have your picture on it.”

The proposal drew praise from some election experts but also prompted immediate concerns on both sides of the political spectrum — highlighting the controversy that still surrounds voting rights issues.

Some voter advocates said requiring such cards could still put poorer Americans at a disadvantage, while conservatives such as Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) argued that it could pave the way for a new form of national ID.

If Clinton and Carter have given the idea approval, you know the idea is shit. I distinctly remember being told that the card was never envisioned to be an identification card.

Surprise! Yet another Democratic Party lie exposed.

My Social Security card has “NOT TO BE USED FOR IDENTIFICATION” clearly printed across the bottom. But since when has that stopped any government agency from using it for whatever purpose?

Lots of folks use SSNs as ID numbers. You have the option to use it on filling out a 4473. Employers need SSN, doctor’s offices do. So it’s not just government.

But let’s remember for a second nothing requires you to carry your SS card around all the time, nor is the number tattooed on the inside of you arm.

Same thing with a birth certificate. My certified copy at home has NO useful identification info (no footprints, etc.)

It’s mine because I say it is, nothing more…

The US already has a national photo ID. It’s called a passport, and you can buy them at most Post Offices.

A far better idea than hiring thousands more social security administrators to handle the new photo ID, would be to require people to show their passports.

What did the Founders say? Well, for one thing, they allowed a Census. For another, they did NOT assign/enshrine any “right” of anononymity. Obviously, they had no problem with citizens being known by their names, so why do some on the Right complain so long and loud? Why do some on the Right teach evasive tactics on identity? We KNOW why the Left beefs about identification: they need anonymity to cover up election theft. Given that the Left relies so heavily on election theft, I find it bewildering that the Right allows them their corruption when it is so easy to stamp out with required use of proper ID to vote.

There is NO right to live anonymously in the USA.

    10A.

Why do you think Employers and Dr’s Offices need them in the first place? They certainly didn’t come up with additional paperwork requirements on their own for shits and giggles. There’s a reason I call them ‘State Slave Numbers’.

In 1974, Congress passed the SSAN Privacy Act, which gave private status to the Social Security Account Number, except in the military, where the old Serial Numbers (mine was FV3207958) had just been replaced with the SSAN. The only problem was that the “privacy” afforded by the Privacy Act was non-existant because every Federal Form which demanded you affix your SSAN to also had a warning that if you didn’t disclose your SSAN the Feds could then refuse you whatever service it was that you were applying for. This sham-“privacy” of the SSAN has continued for 40 years.

And as some party-pooper has already pointed out, this is just another bogus plan by the demoncraps, as every illegal in the country either has a fake/stolen ss number already or will get one as soon as the demos(and their suck-ass rino friends manage to jam this down the throat of the people.
