They forget so soon.
I guess some truly “never forget”. But those folks seem to be the ones who reminisce about the “good old days” of persecuting people for their heritage.

There were some liberals on DU yesterday postulating this is less government-backed anti-Semitism, and looks more like some kind of scam scheme to get money out of fearful people. Kinda like how you may get an e-mail in your spam box, purportedly from the government, saying you’ll soon be arrested for non-payment of fines, but you can keep yourself out of jail by heading to this website and giving your SSN, address, credit card, etc….
Why, after the 1940s, every Jew doesn’t own a rifle so they themselves can say “never again!”….
My grandfather fled the Tsar’s pogroms, from Kiev, in 1887. He passed down to my dad that the reason Ukraine was rich was because there were a strong minority of Jews there. To grandpa, rich meant in intellect, not money – few Russian Jews had any money. When the pogroms chased the Jews out in that era, what happened next? 100+ years of anarchy and communism and now, back to anarchy, Putin-style.
According to most news sites this was a hoax….
What kind of hoax, Sul? USA Today acknowledges that multiple people are taking credit for it. the AoSHQ watched them change their story without putting up a notice about the change. It may not be from Putin, but someone over there is trying to either scare off or shakedown the Jews of eastern Ukraine.
Multiple individuals maybe Phil, but not the “government decree” that it was touted as before when everybody was jumping on the Nazi comparisons. Not to say the whole thing isn’t despicable, but its apparently not a progrom as first thought.
