RNS Quote of the Day: 02/14/14

If you had any doubts about the tyranny, let them be removed.

Company officials will be trapped in a catch-22. They can lay off as many people as they want because of Obamacare. But because they’ll have to swear to the IRS that their decisions had nothing to do with Obamacare, they can’t speak publicly about what’s happening. What a great way to silence the people who are on the front lines of dealing with Obamacare’s horrific effects.

Bryan PrestonCompanies Must Now Swear to the IRS That None of Their Layoffs Are Because of Obamacare

And pity those who already have spoken out.

The IRS has no authority to ask it, and as near as I can tell there are no penalties for saying either FU or “we did lay people off to save costs. Your point, dipstick?”If they get audited, yes, that sucks, but the winds are a changing, and people are watching, and that can be used at the trial for abuse of power if there is a “pattern” of audits among people doing such things. But it really depends on a LOT of them doing it.

Since there are severe penalties for lying on a tax form, I suggest that everyone play safe and state that they fired people because of President Obamas health program.

    Everyone. Period.

Betcha a 100% “yep” statistic to that question gets buried deep and dark.

The ACA isn’t penetrable. Even with search/find, a regular person without a staff of lawyers will never be sure what is or isn’t required. If the IRS decides that laying people off to avoid increased health care costs is a felony, then it IS a felony until the next Republican president takes office.

So I’m missing something here. JUST DON’T SIGN IT.
