Here’s a fun exercise: replace ‘AR-15’ with, well, anything expensive. Sports car. Boat. High-end gaming PC. Warhammer 40k miniatures.
I can easily see Nurse Ratchet of the liberal mindset snottily telling us we don’t -need- that fast car. Or that boat, either. And so on.

Most of my answers at too un-PC.
“Because Chairman Mao said ‘political power comes from the barrel of a gun’, and I don’t want to be left out of the political process.”
“Because the UN also uses 5.56 NATO and STANNG mags and I intend to resupply from my fallen enemies.”
And my favorite, “Because you don’t want me to have one.”
