He knows a guy

Although, I have wondered why no one has built and marketed an AR platform shotgun. They would likely call it the “AR-12” or something. If Saiga can do it with an AK platform, Remington could fiddle with their R25. I’d buy at least two if they came with screw in chokes and magazines that weren’t hard to find.

UPDATE 1: Apparently, I have been living under a rock. But how about getting a major brand that has at least one of my two requests?

UPDATE 2: After reviewing the specs, the item in the  above link really only resembles an AR in the same way this watermelon “resembles” a cake.

Not what I’m asking for.

I did not know that. Thanks you and fixed.

Well, all we need now is a review!

Wnen I was at Shot Show back in ’08, there was a vender there with a .410 upper for the AR lower. It was a pretty good looking set up IIRC. Cost was supposed to be around $500 for the set up. Never did see it come to the open market.

So I could shoot .410 slugs with an AR platform? I think I’d buy a couple. At least. What great stocking stuffers. Let’s see, my daughter and son-in-law, my wife, my brother… why, I could easily take a half-dozen! First, though, I’d need the lowers.

There are a few AR-15 shotgun uppers, but from what I’ve seen the only real offering has a proprietary cartridge. It’s still a 12 gauge shotshell, but it’s a rimless brass cased one in order to get it to feed and stack properly.

Honestly I hope it catches on, because box fed shotguns are a wonderful thing. The current design of shotshells that’s been around for however many years (more than 100 I’d imagine) is not really conducive to that.

Aha, found it. The RAS-12, it’s an AR-10 upper rather than an AR-15, but close enough. The news media would certainly never figure out the difference between them. The shotshells are also polymer cased rather than brass, was working from faulty memory.
