Just over a week ago, Jonathan over at The Yankee Gunner went to Bloomberg’s media spectacle in Newtown, CT and very respectfully open carried his pistol during the event.
Amazingly (or not so amazingly to RNS regulars), nothing happened. That is, unless you count the PSH from the folks in favor of restricting the civil rights of law abiding Americans. You can hit the link above and read his account, including his textbook peaceful interaction with the very professional constabulary.
In contrast, we have this asshole.
The next day at another Bloomberg media spectacle, this time in Concord, NH, some jackass in a red shirt wandered on up to the podium while the father of a murdered woman was speaking as to why he thought your and my civil rights should be restricted. While I seriously doubt that you or I could agree with 99% of what the speaker was saying, that doesn’t give us, or the asshole in the red shirt, the right to do a live Fisking of his speech.
To make matters worse, the police were called and the guy decided his smartest move was to “physically interact” with them. Which ended as you can well imagine; with him being tasered and arrested, on video, which made to the 5 o’clock news.
We went from peaceful and respectful counter protest to “look how violent those gun nuts are” in less that 24 hours. Yay us!
On a slightly lighter side, at least this guy has helped the left bring out their true colors. If you hit either of these links to leftosphere websites, you notice how much they love civil rights supporters. They normally really hate them some tasers. But in this case they’ll make a huge exception.
