The right side of the blogosphere is talking about the idiocy of Democrat Colorado Representative Diana DeGuette believing that “magazine clips” are used up once the ammunition is fired out of them and then believing that she is informed about issues concerning firearms.

The Forum is just over 90 minutes long and I would almost advise you to wait until this weekend to watch it. Except that I don’t trust the Denver Post to leave the incriminating evidence up for that long.
Lundberg and Smith do a commendable job being the only two on the panel in favor of civil rights.
Right near the end, a man who looks to be in the “post-retirement” phase of his life asks a question that we cannot hear, but one can only assume he is asking the anti-civil rights members of the panel what they would suggest he do if his home is invaded by multiple armed thugs. DeGette says that “Luckily, you live in Denver and the police are only minutes away.” Which draws laughter from the crowd.
She follows up the laughter by stating that it probably doesn’t matter because even if he had a gun he’d “be dead anyway.”
Nice to see she care about her constituents like that.
If she cornfused “clip” and “magazine”, as most MSM filk do, she might be correct. What else is the enbloc clip for an M-1 Garand rifle? Stripper clips are tossers, too.
Well, I know I pick up my Garand clips and reload them from the bulk Greek that I got a while back. Probably wouldn’t in the heat of a fire fight, but probably wouldn’t with AR mags either.
As far as the stupid politician thing goes, I would hope that the people in CO would, as time passes between now and the next election, catch a clue about just how dumb their elected officials are and turn them out en masse. I honestly don’t expect it, though. I’ve come to the conclusion that most people really don’t understand or care about their civil rights. As long as the freeways aren’t too crowded, as long as there’s beer in the stores and as long as TV still has “The Real Next Top Rehab Gold Killer Catch” on, they’re good.
We’re fighting a rear-guard action. I don’t mind it, but we’d better hope the collapse comes sooner rather than later.
