It’s our first visit to Oroville for the two-day force-on-force Home Defense course at LMS Defense’s shoot house using less-than-lethal arms; we’ll see if they’re pellet guns, paintball or BBs. Whatever they may be, I had to buy my first athletic hardshell cup.

Applebees’ bar looked like I might strike out at first, but there was a bottle of Chivas Regal 12 hiding in back. For a blended Scotch, it’s quite nice, with a surprising, lovely peaty finish.

Good training? (Heh… bearing in mind that “good training” is a military euphemism for any situation that is wet, cold, dirty, and/or generally FUBAR.)
give me Lagavulin or give me death.
How was the training?
It was fantastic.
I will have a writeup eventually, but seeing as how I haven’t actually fleshed out all the details of the shotgun clinic or the two-day pistol class, I should probably do those first….
Nevertheless, it’s coming. A local TV news outfit interviewed me, the wife, and several other students, so if they ran a video I’ll post it here in the meantime.
Mark, I would tend to agree (I go back and forth between Ardbeg Ugueidail and Lagavulin 16, still haven’t figured out which tops the other), but bear in mind that Mr. Henry’s exhortation was about the goal. If he’d fought the Revolutionary war to achieve Lagavulin, I doubt he’d have stopped drinking entirely during that time. 🙂
And one must imbibe the lesser waters from time to time to truly appreciate the best, no?
