No, this isn’t an ad for a job, I’ve simply lost something and need help finding it. It has been a stress-filled couple of weeks as of late, so please forgive me if the answer is obvious.
I seem to have lost a link to a quote from an unknown party, possibly in relation to this article, which whines about “media bias” against the Occupy assholes.
Yes, just go read it. Thinking about that last sentence for too long could cause you to get a headache.
I first thought I saw it at Kevin’s. When I couldn’t find it within the last week or so, I figured I must have seen it at Uncle’s. Nope. Next I moved onto Joe’s. Still nothing. So I them went through nearly 10 days worth of Posts at Insty’s.
I’m turning up nothing.
So here is a paraphrase of the quote:
In a revolution, if you are not prepared to kill and die for what you believe in, then you are irrelevant. Tweeting doesn’t count.

The inspiration for the quote was about Syria, but not about the link I posted above wherein the author whines that the Occupy-twerps weren’t given the respect by US Media that the Syrian rebels who are fighting and dying are given.
I do not believe that I have ever seen a quote that is even more relevant after the fact as the one from Mr. Reynolds.

I realize it might be pedantic, but one’s usefulness to a revolution is likely more dependent on one’s willingness to die rather than one’s willingness to kill. Killing is certainly necessary. But other functions… espionage, logistics, and medical support spring to mind, can be invaluable while not directly involved in the killing.
Remind me again: what did Che say to do with the intelligentsia as soon as you get power? What did Pol Pot do with the intelligentsia as soon as he got power? What did the Viet Cong, the Soviets, the Chinese, the Palestinians do?
When every single communist government has ‘kill all the journalists, artists, actors, aristocrats and bureaucrats’ at the top of their to-do list, why does every liberal fantasize about the coming of the glorious communist revolution?

Mollbot, I would think those positions would fall into the “dying for” part of the equation. The Powers That Be do not usually approve of ANY support for the opposition.
DustyDog, I remind them of that whenever possible. They seem to believe that their early support will place them high enough on the food chain to escape the purges.
Hence my statement that willingness to die is more important than willingness to kill.
