Remotely troubleshooting a Linux cluster setup by phone is a bitch. Â Being forced to do it because our software runs on the customer’s cluster, & the customer’s cluster isn’t setup right, because the customer is too cheap to hire IT staff that knows what they bloody fuck they are doing with a Linux cluster, and my because HMFIC wants to look good for the customers & knows I used to do IT (& I’m pretty fucking good at it – if only it didn’t involve users…), so now I am THE Go-To guy for any support engineer with a cluster issue beyond their keen (read: any cluster issue), SUCKS BIG HAIRY DONKEY DICK!
