A “Thank You” Post

A big thanks go out from the RNS Blogstation Tacoma to those who left their condolences for Russell earlier this week. We’re still sad, but he’ll be back home soon, on a shelf overlooking one of his favorite napping spots.

An FYI for the not too distant future, our Dachshund, Mrs. Buttersworth, has been going down the bad road as well and we’re waiting for news from the vet about whether or not she’s going to see some improvement and/or how much. We’re also afraid of not taking appropriate action because of how sad we were for Russ, so things are complicated right now.

So, if in the next couple weeks you see another post of that nature, please don’t go thinking I’m euthanizing my dogs for hits/sympathy/the hell of it. We just seem to be running a geriatric dog hospital. Two weeks ago Ellie had a cyst pop on her left flank and it looks like a well cleaned but quite ghastly gunshot wound. She’s OK with it as long as she wears an Elizabethan Collar and goes to the vet every week.

I feel for ya. Kaya’s still cancer-free, but she’s wearing diapers at night on a regular basis nowadays, which is not exactly ideal. She’s also taking 105mg of Proin (phenylpropanolamine) 3x/day to help her control her bladder. So she’s a VERY happy dog, but even so, she still needs the diaper at night.

Let’s just say I’m glad we ripped out all the carpet years ago.
