So says the families of Seattle Police Officers. And they are right, police are human, they make mistakes, they have lapses in judgment, they are not perfect. And like the rest of us imperfect beings, when they do something that hurts another, by accident, by necessity, or through malice, they need to suffer the consequences.
Except Police don’t, not consistently anyway (publicly embarrass the department & you’ll suffer!). You want cops your majority of good cops to be thought of as people who just have a hard job, then the majority has to tear down the Blue Wall of Silence. The protection it offers isn’t worth it. For once, I’d like the real world to be like the police on TV, heroic, and aggressive in taking down cops who cross the line (with the support of their leadership too!).
