RNS Quote of the Day: 02/03/11

History repeating

Roger Vinson has made his decision: Now let him enforce it.

Barack Obama, POTUS

OK, so it is not an actual “quote” per se. But it is exactly what he mean with the rest of his verbose oratory on the topic.

Sedition? You bet.

  1. Kristopher says:

He doesn’t have to enforce it.

All he has to do is take away the feds ability to regulate. This works for both Obamacare, and off shore drilling.

It is kinda hard to enforce a regulation if all the judges order a not guilty verdict, with prejudice, for all attempts to imprison or fine people for ignore the federal regs in question.

The judge can even take it one step further, and declare any fed involved to no longer be acting under color of law. This leave regulators exposed to trespassing charges, citizen’s arrest, and all sorts of other fun.

  2. Windy Wilson says:

Certainly this is a true quotation, but Andrew Jackson said it after a similarly unpopular decision by the Supreme Court. What was the Rathergate saying? Accurate but not true?
