RNS Quotes of the Day: 09/01/10

I’d like to start this month with optimism, but the current endeavor of the Executive Branch, combined with their track record, means that I’m afraid I cannot do that.

The idea of imposing universal peace on the world by force is a barbarian fantasy.

Garet Garrett

Garrett was originally speaking of the spread of Communism. I believe that he had actually read the Communist Manifesto before most actual Communists and knew of their selective definition of “Peace”.

And because we’re talking here about another American Executive forcing Israel into concessions so that they can have “peace” with the palestinians, here is the classic quote that should be spoken or printed as an intro to every MSM news story on the topic.

In the intifada that began in 2000, Palestinian terrorism killed more than 1,000 Israelis. As a portion of U.S. population, that would be 42,000, approaching the toll of America’s eight years in Vietnam. During the onslaught, which began 10 Septembers ago, Israeli parents sending two children to a school would put them on separate buses to decrease the chance that neither would return for dinner. Surely most Americans can imagine, even if their tone-deaf leaders cannot, how grating it is when those leaders lecture Israel on the need to take “risks for peace.”

George Will

Every MSM story.

UPDATE: And if you ever needed proof of the anti-Isreali attitude that passes for normalcy on the left, try reading this piece of pure propaganda from the Huffington Post.

I will never understand how someone justifies what Hamas does.

Hell, I will never understand how a “journalist” could interview those people without killing them after “Question Time” was over.

  1. Old Marine says:

I can imagine it. I can also imagine myself taking turns with other parents who are Vets, off-duty cops, and shooters, guarding the school.

I doubt the Israelis reacted any differently. Unlike the Palestinians, they seem to love their children.

  2. DFWMTX says:

Palestinians love their children too….. for their usefulness in provoking Israeli soldiers, in doing recon, in smuggling guns and explosives…..

  3. Old Marine says:

They make handy little shields too.
