Most of you are probably aware of the ongoing drama, but the end of the article caught my eye:
The White House referred questions on the issue to the Pentagon, which referred questions to the U.S. Embassy in South Korea, which deferred back to the State Department.
That is your government hard at work!
Imagine how the M1 parts cottage industry would expand if they gave fine Americans the opportunity to own a rifle to make them nostalgic for times when Americans cared about freedom around the world.
Thought the reason for this was that technically the US still owns them, having loaned them to the South Koreans? Or was that just an excuse?
Look at what the State Department official is saying in justification for not permitting the shipments to go through.
The reason GIVEN is immaterial, the true reason is idiotic and unreasoning fear of any implement that can accelerate a projectile faster than a spit wad… and of anyone who might wish to own such an implement.
Never mind that most of us who would be interested in these rifles *ALREADY* own one or more such items…
