More Title IX Fallout

Taking that ignorant statue to the umpteenth degree.

A sports conference that always scheduled weekday basketball doubleheaders in which women’s teams played the first game – letting the men play in the later time slot – has altered the practice, after an anonymous sex discrimination complaint charged that this made the women’s games appear to be a “warm-up” act for the men’s games.

Now, hoping to avoid possible gender equity suits, other athletic conferences are considering similar scheduling changes.

So now, instead of the majority of the spectators arriving while the ladies play and probably getting into the last couple innings of their game, the women are going to get to see a mass exodus while they start their game.

If you were them, which would you rather play in front of?

UPDATE: I was just thinking about the next natural extension of this: Seeing as how you pretty much cannot watch TV today without a decoding box from your cable/satellite company, the Title IX freaks will demand that there be a “Blackout” of individual cable boxes for “The Big College Game” unless the boxes have registered watched an equal/appropriate amount of Women’s Collegiate sports prior to “the Big College Game”.

The “Equal/Appropriate” amount will, of course, be determined by the Title IX freaks. The cable companies will have to comply if they want to get the broadcast rights, and you’re screwed.
