If one standard is good…

Remember, you can’t discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion, etc, but you can still discriminate against felons:

Last winter, a Minneapolis attorney who works to get felons a fair shake after they served their time told of a sign he saw: “Snow shovelers wanted. Felons need not apply.” It’s not good for society if felons who have served their time can’t even get jobs shoveling snow.

And before anyone starts to go one about how felons broke the law and don’t deserve our sympathy and all that, remember, we all likely commit three felonies a day.

I was just filling out a job application that included the warning that I should not provide any information that might reveal my status as a veteran.

Why is my status as a veteran of the armed services supposed to be secret? Ought I to be ashamed of it?

And does this mean I can’t include “US Navy” as a previous employer?

That’s disturbing? Where were you applying?
