Stupid should hurt. Otherwise, folks don’t learn from it, and keep repeating it to the detriment of themselves and all about them.
That right there is some fine wisdom. The only thing I would add/change is “Stupid should hurt, but not cause disproportionate collateral damage to uninvolved parties.”
‘Tis a shame that the stupid 52% of the population is, in fact, inflicting significant collateral damage on those who did nothing to cause it.
