Blaming the Victim

I was surprised to see a news story at the HuffPo about public sector employees making $12+ an hour more than private sector employees. I mean, Bush is out of office, after all.

What I wasn’t surprised by was the HuffPo regulars comments stating that it is only the fault of private sector employees for not going into government work.

The chief difference: public employees are doing necessary work while private employees are trying to convince use of what brand of pickles to buy.

Kind bunch of folks they got over there, ain’t it?

It’s all about the dominance of the SEIU.

Makes one wish for the old AFSCME days…

The sheer ignorance of that statement is amazing.

No, ignorance is correctable. I’m convinced it’s sheer stupidity.

“People want stuff. This is bad/selfish/counter-revolutionary/a bourgiuosie trait/etc. The proper Soviet Communist Socialist liberal’s only joy should be to toil for the State, and he should be content with living in a hole and eating grass.”

I don’t know how I’d pull through without the third assistant janitor down at OSHA.
