RNS Quote of the Day: 03/23/10

I don’t know how much MSNBC any of y’all watch, but I stopped watching any of the other alphabet soup networks (including FOX) long ago. The comedic entertainment value of the car wrecks that are the MSNBC evening talk shows is very high. But their morning shows are utter train wrecks. The hosts and booth staff can’t transition from the studio to either live shots or stock footage to save their lives and the guests are straight from another planet.

I watched some guest-broad from Mother Jones attempt to take over hosting duties, while sitting next to the actual  host, because she didn’t like how one of the other guests was responding to her talking points. It was the funniest six minutes of live cable news EVAR!

I’ve also never been able to watch any of the FOX evening talkers, except for the Friday edition of Stossell. And it is a good thing that his show is only once a week because the format is so ignorant it’ll cause temporary blindness.

So, I must now admit that I watch Olbermann and Maddow almost every night.

After last night’s “Three Minutes of Hate” rant (because two minutes isn’t enough), I realized that he’d made a gaff. The topic was, of course “All the Teabaggers are Racists!!!1!ONE!” and the praises to Obama and Pelosi were gushing.

But I think he forgot that his shows have transcripts and actually can be digitally recorded.

No single payer? No sale. No public option? No sale. No Medicare buy-in? No sale. I am one of the self-insured, albeit by choice. And I hereby pledge that I will not buy this perversion of health care reform. Pass this at your peril, Senators, and sign it at yours, Mr. President. I will not buy this insurance. Brand me a lawbreaker if you choose. Fine me if you will. Jail me if you must.

It is hard to stand on your moral high ground when there is none on your side of the fence.

Just remember that all of you who plan on not paying, getting fined, not paying the fine and then either getting arrested, or standing your ground (aka: not going quietly into that goodnight) are all racists because Mr. Olbermann says so.

    Oh well.
Are you familiar with Mike Vanderboegh’s take on “The Clinton’s Rules of War”?

People who agitated for the Serbian cause were deemed valid targets and he (Clinton) bombed TV stations because of it.

Granted Clinton killed mainly janitors and maintenance people and not the “talent”. But the logic is easy to follow.

I think Olbermann should keep that in mind.

And our side lacks smartbombs, so we will likely have to be more personal, and direct. In other words, janitors can rest safe.

When the IRS begins to haul in MediQuack protesters, I imagine that the response will be militia call-ups.

Keep your powder dry, and listen for the second “shot heard ’round the world”. Until then, watch and read, my friends.
