RNS Quote of the Day: 01/29/10

I was always told that if I didn’t have anything nice to say, to not say anything.

But you guys know I don’t listen to authority very often or very well.

Howard Zinn was fool and a hypocrite; yet another armchair communist preaching the evils of capitalism and democracy while living fat off of both.

Dennis the Peasant

So true.

Zinn wrote a play titled “Marx in Soho” and had the audacity to charge people to see it.

During my “Jonny Quest” fanboy days (3rd grade) I encountered one of Dr. Zinn’s books on the shelf in a classroom and immediately thought I’d found a book by the evil Dr. Zin.

Reading his books in later years has only strengthened that conviction.

I find it presumptuous of him (and others) to attribute their viewpoint to that of “The People”, like the US population is a monolithic block that thinks alike. That’s my first opposition to his work, and you don’t even have to open the cover.
