It isn’t a good lube anyway

Yet more BOHICA for the Brits.

Some doctor in the UK must have stock in KY.

Butter should be banned to protect the nation’s health, according to a leading heart surgeon.

Shyam Kolvekar says only radical action can save growing numbers of young adults from heart attacks and clogged arteries.

Warning of the dangers of other foods high in saturated fat, he advises people to eat less red meat, take low-fat milk and switch to olive and sunflower oil.

Saturated fat is blamed for a third of the 200,000 premature deaths from heart disease a year.

Adults are eating an average of 800 grams of it a month – 20 per cent more than the recommended limit. Hitting the recommended level could save 3,500 lives a year.

Mr Kolvekar, a consultant at University College London Hospitals, said: ‘By banning butter and replacing it with a healthy spread the average daily sat-fat intake would be reduced by eight grams.

As The Mom will tell you, I consider margarine to be the devils own ear wax. If there is no butter, I will go without.

Can someone be crazy and an idiot at the same time?

I sure hope Krazy Glue and concrete blocks are the modern equivalent of tar and feathers, for this guy needs to be covered in them. I can understand a doctor telling his patients to cut the butter from their diet, as well as eat less red meat, take low-fat milk and switch to olive and sunflower oil; this is a good thing. But for a doctor to turn around and say butter should be banned for the good of society and that the forces of law and government should be the means to reach said ends, that’s the kind of action which makes me take you and your wall of diplomas as seriously as the mullah who advocates the burqa-ing of women and the ban of alcohol and pork for the good of society.

Freedom of choice, it’s what you got
Freedom from choice, it’s what you want.

    He’s not crazy. He’s a rent-a-“scientist”.

Mr Kolvekar’s comments were issued by KTB, a public relations company that works for Unilever, the maker of Flora margarine.
