Just remember, newspapers and TV news shows are “legitimate” news sources made by people who are SO much smarter than bloggers.
Yeah, down in PDX, we had couple of inches of snow just in time for the evening rush hour yestiddy. Interesting that NONE of the weather-guessers, from NOAA, on down to the TeeVee guys/gals, saw the possibility of the approaching warm front occluding (being forced aloft, with a stronger cold air dome next to the ground).
These weather gods look at their computer projections, and keep with what the projections say. Hell, I could do that. What they needed to do was release maybe 5 weather balloons to measure the temperature at various levels aloft, and they could have seen it coming. That’s 1940’s technology, and they refuse to use anything old like that anymore. Fact is, the computers almost NEVER get the strength of cold-air domes over Eastern WA and OR correct. The computers suck at micro-climate projections.
Balloon radiosonde technology was good enough for Eisenhower to launch the D-Day invasion on, and had HIS weathermen messed THAT forecast up, it would have been the Spanish Armada all over again.
I thought Mike Litoris’ brother-in-law was Mike Hunt. Must be another extended family.
No wonder the MSM is tanking.
