RNS Quote of the Day: 09/07/09

Over 25% of teenagers are unemployed. The highest percentage since 1948.

I’m sure it’s just coincidence that this happened right after Congress jacked up the minimum wage in the middle of a deep recession. This was the kind of thing that FDR did that made the Great Depression great.

Not to worry children of America!

With the Obamessiah in charge, working your way through college will become a thing of the past. He and the Democrat Congress will make the ability to attend to college a right!

  1. DirtCrashr says:

That’s one way to create a constituent-class, free college indoctrination even if they should be in tech school (or reform school).

  2. It also doesn’t help that out of work adults are taking whatever jobs they can get, our illegal immigration problem is sucking up the sorts of jobs teenagers used to work, or that the outrageous fines and penalties that an employer suffers should a worker under 18 get injured.

Add all that to the minimum wage increase, and it’s a wonder it isn’t 50%.

Sending everyone to college won’t help. We’ll just have a slightly better educated and older group of the unemployed.
