Win!

For those who have been keeping up with Sebastian and Bitter’s posts on defeating members of Bloomberg’s Mayors group (hit the link and start scrolling) I can hand off some good news that we didn’t even have to work for!

In an eight-way primary where only the top two vote-getters advance, Seattle Mayor and Bloomberg Fellow Traveler, Greg Nickels, is in third place with 50% of the votes counted!

Hopefully the trend will continue.

While none of the candidates look “great” or even “good” for gunnies, at least Nickels and his “Let’s ban legally carried concealed pistols on city property” idea will probably die. Because of Nickels’ incompetency, Seattle has more to worry about than that.

Also dead in this primary, the tax on plastic grocery bags. It seems as though at least 58% of Seattlites thought that it was a stupid idea. Which is strange because for some reason, the media played it up as being quite popular.

That reminds me of a sign I saw in a florist’s shop – “83% favor the public option.” In fine print – sponsored by MOVEON.org.

Suuure. Even though every other poll points to 54% of the public being opposed to the public “option,” and another good percentage having no idea what that means.

It was quite popular. In the media.

And we all know the talking heads in Seattle know much better than we do what’s good for us. They tell us so every day.

  3. Mollbot says:

Maybe it was 83% of MoveOn’s membership that favored it?

  4. Phil says:

It sounds pretty close to the 76% percent figure I keep hearing from the leftosphere and the pro-Obamacare pundits on the radio and the tube.

They always forget to mention that that number is from a poll that took place during the first week of June.
