They’re talking about you

The DHS report has come back out in a different form and with a little different language.

But it is saying the same thing: White male gun owners are bad.

Militia groups with gripes against the government are regrouping across the country and could grow rapidly, according to an organization that tracks such trends.

The stress of a poor economy and a liberal administration led by a black president are among the causes for the recent rise, the report from the Southern Poverty Law Center says. Conspiracy theories about a secret Mexican plan to reclaim the Southwest are also growing amid the public debate about illegal immigration.

Bart McEntire, a special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, told SPLC researchers that this is the most growth he’s seen in more than a decade.

Don’t laugh too hard when you see that we’re months past its last peak.

Of course, not long into the above linked article, they mention McVeigh and the OKC bombing. Let me relay a little personal anecdote from that time in my life.

Back in the early 1990’s, not too far from where I’m living now, at a range that no longer exists, myself and two dozen or so other guys shot IDPA matches, before there was the IDPA. We weren’t involved with IPSC for the some of exact reasons the IDPA was formed.

The range we were all members of had areas for CMP rifle and Silhouette matches and Skeet and Trap. They also had a rather large cleared and bermed area used for extra parking during the larger matches. As a group we were OK’d to use this area for “Action Pistol” shooting by the club leadership.

Over a short period of time, we started forming matches, setting up elaborate stages and charging entry fees. We built our own popper target frames and plates tables. We set up a pair of moving targets. By 1993 we’d spend a weekend building a “house” out of 2×4’s, plywood and black plastic sheeting, and then spend the next weekend shooting it as a course.

We shot rain or shine or “fuckin’ snow”. One, two and three gun matches. Some weekends we’d take both Saturday and Sunday to complete.

Not too long after 1993 the officers of the club started changing. A couple of the newer officers didn’t appreciate us shooting so fast and “making the place sound like a war zone”.  We accommodated them by not holding our matches on weekends when they were holding theirs. The area would safely accommodate three separate stages, we made sure we never shot more than two.

We thought we had them sated. Until McVeigh and Nichols did their deed.

From what we gathered, the word had gotten out about our little “Bandit Matches”. “Guys who get kitted up and shoot real world scenarios.” So the Fibbies paid a little visit to the Club and spoke to the one guy who was most likely to be an ass about it.

“Somehow” they got our contact information and we each got a phone call. If you didn’t return the phone call, you got a knock on the door.

Needless to say, that ended that. Memberships thrown back and no turning back except to give that one guy the finger.
They are going to start cruising the clubs again, if they already haven’t. It only takes one guy who doesn’t like your black rifle to ruin your week.

I don’t belong to any thing anymore. No NRA, No GOA. No local range, no magazine subscriptions. I don’t sign into “club discount” type memberships at chain sporting goods stores. I pay cash at the gun store. This website is paid for by me through a scapegoat. If I shop online I use that scapegoat.

I don’t need the bullshit.

The only thing that gives me away as a gun owner to anyone with a badge is my Concealed Pistol License and my attendance at Boomershoot and the GBR, and Mike and Joe aren’t likely candidates to keep my info lying about.

We’re already six months into this latest incarnation of Democratic Majority Politics and already we’ve seen an Executive Cabinet that looks to have been set up by the Tides and Joyce Foundations, a very anti-civil rights SCOTUS appointment, and had two reports issued using our tax dollars stating that we’re the problem.

They’re talking about you. And soon they are going to want to talk to you.

Have a nice day.

I can’t remember who said it, but yesterday someone said that, “we’re high up on the soapbox but they’re screaming like we’re well into the cartridge box.”

The group that did the “study” is the left wing and America hating Southern Poverty Law Center with 200 million dollars in donations from the stupid on their mailing lists. Funny how these “hate groups” only are a threat when the commies are loosing.
