I’ll have some of whatever he’s smoking

Air America radio host and conspiracy theorist, Thom Hartmann, has a joke for you.

It goes like this: Lower the retirement age from 65 to 55 to save Social Security.

When you’re done laughing, drop below the fold for his reasoning.

He says that doing this will create enough employment spaces to bring the unemployment rate down to record lows, which in turn will bring up incoming revenues for the ponzi scheme that is SSI, to the point where it is self-sufficient.

Never mind the fact that when we had what is considered “full employment” under George W. Bush SSI wasn’t self-sufficient, and that was with fewer people on the program and more people working.

Economics are not his strong suit. He’s leftist talk radio host and a licensed Herbologist.

That sure is some “herb” you got there, Thom. Care to pass that duchie?

He learned economics from the anonymous guy who said, “We lose 5% on every sale but make it up in volume.”

  2. Mollbot says:

Must be the same anonymous guy who used to broker the deals between Boeing and my company.

“Oh yeah we’re losing money but if we didn’t undercut the competition we wouldn’t get the contract.”

You mean the contract… WHERE WE’RE LOSING MONEY? IDIOT?

I’d count on him to bogart that joint. Even without it, he’s a doofus.
