We have nine Justices on the SCOTUS because not everyone can leave their “life experiences” at the door and hand down a fair ruling. Sadly, it looks as though we’re going to get one who prefers to apply said experiences to everything stuffed down our collective gullets.
When a judge treats a constitutional right as non-fundamental–yet cites no legal authority, and does not even acknowledge that the issue has been raised on appeal–it raises the possibility that the judge may be hostile to that right.
