Because it seems as though the only way to be a “patriotic American” in the near future will be to buy a GM product.
Earlier this week, Hugh Hewitt spoke about boycotting GM products in protest of the goverment takeover. Air America and MSNBC host, the increasingly unhinged Ed Schultz, repeatedly said that “that is some of the most unAmerican garbage” he’d ever heard. John Amato of the leftist CrooksAndLiars blog accuses folks who won’t buy a GM vehicle of attempting to “destroy the American auto industry.”
So I guess they’ll probably be selling their current rides and buying one of the first Government Motors turds off the line then?
Over at GayPatriot the idea is expounded upon, and reminds the sinestra that if they want to show how supportinve of the Obama Administration they are, then they should trade in their precious Prius’, their Volvo’s, their Honda’s, Saabs, Subarus, Toyota’s and VW’s for a shiny new GM compact slapped together by folks whose income is derived from sucking on the government teat.
I’ll be watching and waiting.
No thanks, I think I’ll keep my Toyota for another 200k miles or so.
Same here. I’m not a trust-fund revolutionary or limosine liberal who can afford to change out automobiles according to the latest political fashion. Last years, hybrids; next few years, American union-built. Maybe after that it’ll be politically-correct…..er, ‘cool’ to buy a Chinese made car because some Democrat thinks the Chinese need some of those loans paid back by American car buyers.
Never had a GM car, don’t see why I should start now, glad I got a Ford truck though.
You and me both DirtCrashr.
I’ll just hold on to my 2000 Isuzu; built in the Alabama honda plant by good ol’ redneck boys and girls. Only got 80K on it. Wife’s ’05 Neon only has 37K so it’ll be around for a while as well.
My ’02 Silverado’s still going strong, but I won’t be buying another.
No, I’m not trying to destroy the American auto industry; I’m acknowledging that the Obama administration already has.
I drive past the GM plant in Fort Wayne on a regular basis. The plant still has the “Foreign Car Zone” which mean foreign cars can only park in designated areas. Until the unions and management can get past the snubbing of these cars and actually respect and work on beating the imports…we’re going to get the same thing over and over.
I have a couple of Ford trucks, and the wife and I were looking at getting a Saturn Vue. Were.
I don’t think I’ll ever buy a GM. At least as long as its state owned.
