Getting Testy

Recent polls are showing the Congressional Republican’s approval ratings are drawing even with the Democrats.

Other polls are showing a preference for Republicans when it comes to the economy.

Maybe some Democrats are more inclined to ignore polls than we’ve seen in the past.

If this is true, then expect more falling numbers from the Dem side.

Top aides to Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) called a last-minute, pre-emptive strike on Wednesday with a group of prominent Democratic lobbyists, warning them to advise their clients not to attend a meeting with Senate Republicans set for Thursday.

Russell Sullivan, the top staffer on Finance, and Jon Selib, Baucus’ chief of staff, met with a bloc of more than 20 contract lobbyists, including several former Baucus aides.

“They said, ‘Republicans are having this meeting and you need to let all of your clients know if they have someone there, that will be viewed as a hostile act,’” said a Democratic lobbyist who attended the meeting.

“Hostile”? Really?

Towards what, their “feelings”?

I guess the results of the meeting’s attendance will be a poll in and of itself.

And if the current crop of Republicans take office it’ll be 1994 all over again.

They have done nothing to show that they have learned anything in the intervening years.

Huckabee, Romney, McCain and the rest of the “Hey big government is GREAT as long as we’re in charge!!” Republicans need to go the everliving F*&^% away and never return.

It’s hard to find Republicans who aren’t members of the “Hey big government is GREAT as long as we’re in charge!!” Club. It is an impossiblity of physics to find a Democrat who is not a member of that club.
I think it is in the nature of politics that politicians are elected and then strive to invent and distribute goodies to see that they are re-elected. As servants, politicians need lots of supervision, more than draftee soldiers, and more than 10 year old boys.

And Guy, The democrats who believe “Hey big government is GREAT as long as we’re in charge!!” are ok? Those Dems need to go where you want the big government Republicans to go “the everliving F*&^% away and never return.”
If it is a bad thing to do, it is still bad even if your guys do it.

“If it is a bad thing to do, it is still bad even if your guys do it. ”

    Y.E.S.!!!

I’ve been voting repub for far too long on the “lesser of two evils” principle and I’m sick to death of it.

“We’re almost marginally less completely awful than the Dems” is a campaign slogan that needs to be taken out back and shot.
