Cool

One of the conundrums I’ve been finding that I’m working myself up about is what to put on my hitch receiver.

It is a total “personality expression” buy. Just enter “hitch cover” into your favorite search engine and spend a day looking at all the options.

I’ve got four or five favorites right now, though I am not at all close to making a decision.

One of the cooler options I’ve sturck off the list is this

A chrome plated 30mm shell.

I only removed because at $110 it is just too pricey.

Two of my current favorites are a Bully bar step with a brake light in it or this Tonka one.

I’ve debated the Shellcasing Headstamp style, but because the truck is silver, I’d have to paint over the ugly brass before I could put it on. Maybe I can order one in stainless?

However, beating them all out is this, from GG&G.

Now that’ll make you want to get a front bumper with a receiver in it just to frighten the slow movers.

I’ve looked all over for one with either Remington on it, or even just the big R, to no avail.

Anyone else out there seen something that might be of interest to gunnies?

I’d check and see if any of the many GFW jurisdictions you travel through up there have “dummy grenade” prohibitions. That fake claymore could fall under one of them.

It’s one thing to have “7.62” in various forms all over your vehicle, but if you actually have something that is unmistakeably ammo, or similar, you aren’t just informing, as is your right, you are taunting, which right some of your neighbors may have already taken away from you.

I actually find the bully bar step is a very useful thing; and having another LED light back there can’t hurt.

Of course, my truck is so high off the ground (2500 4×4) that the step is somewhat less useful than it otherwise would be. There are some companies making dropped steps though.

Drat! The claymore’s illegal here. Maybe a copy of the business end of a 20mm Gatling gun that spins as you drive like those little outboard props?

The GG&G site crapped all over my computer and set off a bunch of my protection. Be cautious about clicking on it. the mine was cute, but I can’t use it where I work.

Ditto on the GG&G site. My antivirus blocked a trojan from loading.
